Tis the End of the Season!
Well summer is winding down (even though the weather has been glorious!!!). Labor Day weekend was amazing...the weather was perfect, the crowds huge and lots of happy smiling shoppers in the store!!! (And the kids are back in school...hhhooorrraaayyyy!)
We opened the Georgia Dawgs season with Dawg Daze... a big old black and red party coupled with a good old fashioned tent sale! Sadly the Dawgs lost their opener, but the Tent Sale was a big winner! We've made room for all kinds of new items for the upcoming holiday season... Halloween, Thanksgiving, daily Happy Hour and of course, Christmas!
In case you haven't heard, author Nicholas Sparks is in town, signing his new book that will make Tybee a Hollywood hottie once the movie is released in January 2010...."The Last Song", written for Miley Cyrus, is hitting the shelves this week.... Sister Susan persuaded the author to sign books for the Seaside Sisterhood.... TODAY! So,if you've pre-ordered signed books, they are in the store and ready to go home with you! If you haven't pre-ordered but still want a book, come by the shop and grab one! And grab your hankies ladies... Sister Susan says the last couple of chapters are tear-jerkers!

Hazy, Hot and Humid!
Whew! The humidity was enough to send women running into the store seeking a hot flash haven! Though the beaches were swamped with people AND jellyfish, that didn't keep shoppers from visiting us in the store!

The fan letters to Miley Cyrus continue to pour into Seaside Sisters! Many an excited tweener has entered the store clutching a hand-penned letter with hopes that their fav star will receive it personally.
Well girls, rest assured that your letters do indeed reach Miley!

Business was hopping on Tybee this weekend! Our little shop of eclectic fabulousness was just brimming with shoppers...housewares, baubles and yard art were the top sellers!
Not to fret on being low on inventory though... a trip to the Atlanta Gift Mart will bring lots of nifty new items to the store. As well, we've just gotten a shipment of funky beaded jewelry and clocks to boot!
Being the fashion forward mecca that we are, we found these folks donning some of our fav head gear!

A barrier island about 18 miles east of Savannah, low-key Tybee boastsa 3-mile stretch of beach that our judges labeled “magnificent,”complete with gorgeous water. “The beaches here rarely havewater-quality problems,” says panelist and water-quality expert NancyStoner, who is very picky about where she dips a toe in.
Exercise is a way of life on Tybee.
There are sunrise yoga classes on North Beach, and biking is thepreferred mode of transportation. “You can leave your car parked andbike just about anywhere on the tiny island,” says judge Elizabeth Joy,MD, a family-and-sports-medicine physician. And if you forget yourgear, just rent a ride from one of the bike shops—trailer bikes for thekiddies and roller skates are available, too.
The island also has the least expensive lodgings, on average, of allthe towns on our list. And its eateries serve up an abundance ofgood-for-you fare like fish tacos, salads, and veggie-filledsandwiches. “The restaurants serve simple, heart-healthy dishes,” saysjudge Ruth Frechman, RD, a spokeswoman for the American DieteticAssociation.

Happy 4th Y'all! Lots of visitors and locals stopped by the shop today to start the 4th of July festivities and meet our first lady of elocution....Mary Kay Andrews. Mary Kay was IN THE HOUSE (or on the porch) signing her amazing new book "The Fixer Upper"... so many folks came by to meet her that we temporarily ran out of books....(Lawdy NO!)....but we quickly remedied that and the queue reformed with avid fans!

Miley Cyrus (like who else?) has been ALL over Tybee Island and Savannah...she's been quite the sport with appearances, free concerts and autographs galore... and we TRULY appreciate how great she and The Last Song crew have been to everyone of the Island!
Below, Disney works the magic it is so well known for...AND the Miley Cyrus Fan Club letters continue to POUR into the hallowed doors of Seaside Sisters (squeal!! shriek!! Is that really her???) So bring your gaggle of starstruck kids down to the store and drop off your very own letters to Miley...we'll make sure she gets them!

Tybee's notorious Spring Tides proved extra high this time around as a tidal surge of
10 1/2 feet turned Highway 80 into one LONG waterway! Doesn't anyone around here own an ark???
